Eva went against her people in the courtroom because she felt it wasn’t right for them to get away with their crime. In my opinion I think this wasn’t a good decision because I feel like you should never go against your family or friends. Her “friends” react by saying that she will be forever dead to them and saying she was a traitor.

Ms. Gruwell’s students aren’t motivated to succeed in school because they are too busy with outside of school things that prevent them from trying in school. Most of the students are involved in gangs which affects their ability to learn because of all the violence that goes on in their lives.

Some of Ms. Gruwell’s students believe they won’t live past the age of 18 because they think they might end of murdered in their neighborhood or in the streets, as said by some of the students throughout the movie.
